Fine Arts Department

4-8 Units

In this course, students learn the rudiments of band instruments including trombone, trumpet, bass horn, clarinet, saxophone, flute and drums. The band marches and represents the school in parades.

Handbell Choir I-III AB (Grades 6-8)

A course enabling students to develop musical expression and appreciation through the art of bell or chime ringing. Critical listening is part of the course requirement. Some of the fundamentals taught are care and maintenance, bell set-up, ringing and damping, circles and legato ringing, music notation and reading. Performances are part of the experience and excellence is stressed.

An introductory course in vocal music performance that provides the opportunity to participate. Students also have school related performances which involve choreography and introduces them to dance. There are many solo opportunities as well.
